Just a note for the site to inform people that there is a group for the series on the social networking site, FACEBOOK. As many people round the world are signed up to the site, a group was started there initially to have people associated with the project as well as other interested parties, keep up to date and express their interest. If you are on facebook, please feel free to search and join the 'Future Perfect' group.
This site however will be updated with the same information and a bit more, as opposed to simply the updates on facebook. The choice is yours, one or the other or both.

FUTURE PERFECT: SERIES OUTLINE
FUTURE PERFECT: SERIES OUTLINE
The idea of the series is to create a fairly realist universe where
the lives of all its inhabitants are chronicled. This will be done in
a series of various story arcs that focus on 5 separate individuals
each arc, from said universe. It’s a drama series, and hence we will
be exploring the harsher more dramatic elements of these characters
lives as they go through their days. The idea is to reflect on real
life, and the harsh realities often not dealt with directly and
portray them as realistically and honestly as possible.
SEASON 1: CHAPTERS 1-6
The first arc follows 5 characters, all non-related (with the
exception of two pairs of the five who know each other, but live
separate journeys)
JAMES - An aspiring novelist, currently working for a local paper
SARAH – A brilliant university student who at the beginning of her
story is faced with a new and delicate situation
SAMANTHA – An alcoholic violinist not willing to face her own demons
DAVID – A disillusioned artist, still grieving the loss of his lover (He is a close friend of Samantha’s)
KATHERINE – A model looking to start her life in a new direction (Old friend of James’)
The idea is to have a sort of underlying theme for each arc. The theme
of the pilot season is ‘Self-destruction’, promising individuals on a
downward spiral. The titles of the first 6 episodes are as follows:
* Before my dying day (pilot)
* Comfort in Solitude
* Ad Infinitum
* The less trodden path
* Conclusion
* Prologue
RATING
It is a graphic series, portraying scenes of violence, strong language
and sexuality. So we are not limiting ourselves. But this is not
license for gratuity; it must all come from a real place.
THE WORLD
We will be filming in London to begin with, but this fact will never
be focused on in the series. This is because the city is supposed to
exist as a sort of nether realm, a place that could be anywhere, and
so whether it’s filmed in Tokyo or Battersea, we should not care too
much other than appreciate a ‘change in scenery’ because we should be
following the characters. This doesn’t mean landmarks can’t be shown
or places mentioned, but basically it’s just to say that the city as a
place, the world around it too, should not necessarily be a
determining factor. We are not telling for example a New York story if
we are filming in New York, or likewise for London, but the story of
individuals in a global environment. The series should be able to span
the globe, and still give off the same feeling. 1 arc could be in
France, the next in Canada. There should be no restrictions except our
own location.
The world is tied together, no matter which city it is based in, by a
radio station with a DJ for the daytime, and one at night. These are
the only recurring characters and they tie together the story, hinting
at the themes of the arc if you will.
We will be viewing this world mostly at night for the first arc. I
envisioned this look for the series; however it is subject to change
depending on the requirements of the script.
MUSIC
Limited to either source or at key points, but mostly ambient sounds
MEDIUM
It is to be shot on DV, for the naturalist feel, and for ease and
availability. This way cheap production and smaller crews. In this
respect we can make comparisons with the Dogme95 movement, where the
camera is handheld, no sets or artificial lights etc the more
technical elements of the manifesto. But in a sense we are also
borrowing the strength and eventual graphic nature of events to some
degree that is common to Dogma films
The objective is to not worry about budget and things of that nature,
but to make film, to do things without waiting for hand outs, to put
it bluntly. Hence there is no set timeline outside of what the film
makers feel they need. The movie ‘Tarnation’ was made for less than
$700 and was edited on the guys IMac in IMovie. I don’t see why we
can’t do the same if we are passionate enough.

Casting notice has gone up this week, and casting will go on for the next couple of weeks. Anyone wishing to audition please reply to group email, or post in discussion board, stating the part you would like to read for. Scripts etc will be sent out on receipt of interest. Of course supporting roles are also being filled, so anyone interested should also notify us.
KEY WORDS : This is to have in mind when thinking about the series. Similar in a sense to the previous key words. but just to ram the point home.

Vertigoheights is a film collective/production company of people from the industry and up and comers looking for a creative outlet outside of the mainstream system.
This project is above all a showcase of talent, and should be screened on Cable and Terrestrial televsion and/or online on completion of the first season. Already had talks with Channel 4 for agreed distribution slot. This is a low-budget production, however general expenses will be covered and any future proceeds garnered by the project will be distributed accordingly.
We are casting 4 of the 5 lead roles:
james
A Young aspiring writer, who is given a shock revelation that he may not be able to pursue his dreams.
He is of a rather calm demeanour, witty, and tends to internalise his emotions. He is very driven and his sole focus, of becoming a published author, has been the only goal of his professional life
sarah
A brilliant young Post-graduate student, who finds herself in a delicate new situation at the start of the series.
She is very intelligent, but not introverted, and she goes about things in peculiar ways when she finds herself in a tight spot. She is also dealing with family pressures and her own self inflicted issues
Samantha
an alcoholic violinist from a fairly priviledged upper-middle class background. She is smart, and tends to talk alot about ways to solve other peoples problems, always avoiding her own. She has many issues with society in general and has a very exacting attitude concerning what she wants from life
Katherine
A former model looking to start her life in a new direction, towards something she hopes would be more fulfilling. She is slightly naive, with a big heart and a desire to do many things with her life. She is naturally beautiful, and since leaving the modeling industry hopes to leave her 'looks' behind her
All these roles are of playing age mid-late 20s early 30s. Ethnicity is not a factor

For those who are not aware of this expedition, this is about
the TV Series currently in development, likely to be shown on channel 4/more
4 and/or other stations. The outline is included at the end of this blurb.
For those who are already involved, production is going to get
underway in the next month or two (Casting, Locations etc) to start
filming on two episodes from the first season hopefully by the end of
the year. Screenwriters who have been working on scripts should try
and send them down by then if possible.
We are now appointing the roles for the first season. You
need to send your episode preference based on the scripts you have
read and the overall storyline for the arc. Also, if there are any
other directors who would like to be considered for 1 of the 6
episodes in the season, please post for details (Whether you have
been involved from the start or not)
We will be tech crewing based on the eventual schedules the directors
arrange for the shoot of their episode. Once all entries etc have been
received, we shall arrange a meeting possibly a few weeks afterwards
to confirm.
The quest begins.
Also any aspiring producers, writers, editors, designers etc are
welcome to join the projects at anytime as this is ongoing. Other
seasons and story arcs are already under development and any new ones
are welcome.
